St Mary’s Catholic School

A host of activities took place outside the classroom when sixth formers at a Newcastle school enjoyed a ‘Day of Aspiration’. The Year 12 students from St Mary’s Catholic School took part in a series of team-building tasks throughout the day, which is a regular event in the school’s calendar.

Poppy fields bloomed in Newcastle when a secondary school commemorated Remembrance Day in colourful style. Staff and students at St Mary’s Catholic School transformed the building’s atrium into a ‘Field of Remembrance’, with the stage covered in hand-made poppy wreaths.

High expectations, a nurturing ethos and a highly-effective curriculum have led to an Outstanding award for a Newcastle school. St Mary’s Catholic School received the highest Ofsted judgement of ‘Outstanding’ for all five key areas with a glowing report praising students, leaders, the staff team and the wider school family.
