St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School

Children at a Newcastle school were joined by a very special guest when they celebrated the eightieth anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day on Thursday 8 May. St Catherine’s Catholic Primary welcomed Ann Gowens to a commemorative assembly, where she shared her memories of the first VE Day celebrations, which she had attended as a toddler in 1945.

St Catherine's Catholic Primary new logo features open hands, and a shield with a golden cross radiating light, as well as the school’s mottoes.

Caring children at a Newcastle school celebrated Easter by organising their own charity fundraising day. Rather than collect funds for a single organisation, the pupils at St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School selected six different causes that they wished to support, with each championed by a Year 6 group.
