St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School

There was a riot of colour at the school gates, when children came together to celebrate this year’s International Day of Peace.

The annual Catholic Partnership Showcase featured more than 220 young singers, dancers, gymnasts, and musicians from the Trust’s 39 schools, which cover three local authorities, from Northumberland to North Tyneside and Newcastle.

Children at an Ashington school won praise from Ofsted inspectors who described them as “happy and well behaved” and “kind and respectful of each other”. The pupils at St Aidan’s Catholic Primary, part of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust, were also said to demonstrate good manners while being polite, conducting themselves well and enjoying school.
