St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School

A teaching assistant at an Ashington primary is celebrating an impressive 30 years in her role at the school. Formerly an accountant, Val Waggott joined St Aidan’s Catholic Primary as a classroom assistant in 1994, and has seen both her children go through the school, while her grandchildren are currently pupils there.

Children across five primary schools have raised thousands of pounds for this year’s Children in Need appeal. The Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust schools took part in various fundraising activities last week to boost this year’s Children in Need fundraising campaign.

Would-be cosmonauts enjoyed an out-of-this-world experience when they got to spend time with a real-life spaceman and hear an insider’s account of space travel.
