An introductory course, over three sessions, which helps new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to begin learning about this ministry. The help provided by these ministers in distributing Communion in Church and taking the Blessed Sacrament to the Sick is of great importance in the life our parishes.

Parish priests are invited to indicate if they would like to send participants to the course.

For this ministry Diocesan Safeguarding procedures may be applicable.

The programme consists of three sessions:

Venue: St Augustine’s Parish Centre, Larchfield Street, Darlington DL3 7TG.

  • Session 1: Monday 18 November (Evening session) 7.00 – 9.00pm
  • Session 2: Monday 25 November (Evening session) 7.00 – 9.00pm
  • Session 3: Saturday 30 November (Day session) 10.30am – 4.00pm*

*Participants to bring their own packed lunch for the day event – tea and coffee provided.

NB. The Saturday session ends with a Mass of Commissioning at 3.00pm.

Cost: £20 per participant.
