St Lawrence Byker share photos of their art competition to celebrate the Year of the Eucharist.
Alison Hagon RE Coordinator St Lawrence’s RC Primary School Byker said:
“At St Lawrence’s School in Byker we have been enjoying celebrating The Year of The Eucharist.
“We have done a variety of things in school to develop children’s knowledge of the Eucharist and what it means to us.
“The whole school took part in a Eucharistic Art Competition.
“We looked at lots of artistic images of the Eucharist and then every class from Nursery to Year 6 tried out different artistic styles using various art mediums to produce their own images.
“It was extremely difficult to choose winners from each phase but eventually we chose 6 overall winners and awarded prizes in our celebration assembly.
“All of the images are displayed in our school entrance, they make a wonderful display and act as a wonderful welcome to our school.”
