As Living Wage Week begins its annual celebration of the Living Wage movement exciting news arrives from Tyne & Wear Citizens.

Sunderland University are reopening their consideration of the real Living Wage and a group of representatives are meeting with the Vice Chancellor, David Bell, on Monday 6 December!

This is a massive win – thank you to everyone involved so far for getting us here!

As a result of this news some changes, including the start time, have been made to the Living Wage public action planned to take place at the University on Thursday (25 November) and the tone will change slightly to recognise this shift in position. Santa, elves and carol singers will all still be in attendance to both thank the University’s leadership but also to keep on the pressure so that meetings turn into commitments to pay decent wages to those working at the University.
