The Tyne and Wear Citizens Delegates Assembly took place at Newcastle University on 26th March. Our diocese was well represented with about a fifth of the delegates present from our parishes and schools.
Bishop Stephen gave a keynote speech in which he spoke of ‘the Common Good‘ and the ‘dignity of all human beings’. He said:
“In the service your institution is giving to others, you are promoting and celebrating the dignity, value and worth shared by all humanity, a truth that is so often ignored.”
Following presentations, discussion and voting, three campaigns were adopted – they are shared here with details of campaign leads should you wish get involved or find out more.
