Thank you to everyone who supported us by coming to the second launch event at English Martyrs and Ss Peter & Paul, Stockton on Saturday 13 November 2021.

The words with which Pope Francis launched CHARIS in 2019, continue to inspire us as a team and keep us on track.

Today one thing ends and another begins. A new stage of this journey is beginning. A stage marked by communion between all the members of the charismatic family, in which the mighty presence of the Holy Spirit is manifested for the good of the entire Church.

Seeing more people from the various realities of Charismatic Renewal in our Diocese continues to give us great hope for what lies ahead, under the guidance and creativity of the Holy Spirit, and through the new communion Pope Francis hopes to see.

This time we were blessed with uplifting and inspiring music from our brothers and sisters from our Filipino Community.

We were again blessed with three inspiring testimonies, with Andy Drodziak proving to be even more impactful through a recording of his experience of Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Over the next few weeks, we hope to serve the Holy Spirit in several ways.

A section on charismatic communities and realities is to be created on our part of the new Diocesan website. We hope this will make it easier for people to find prayer groups and participate in other opportunities provided by our vibrant charismatic communities.

Feedback from the discussion groups from both launch events will shortly be studied and discerned. From this we hope to learn more about how our team can help our Diocese move forward with the three priorities of CHARIS:

  1. To help deepen and promote the grace of baptism in the Holy Spirit throughout the Church
  2. To promote the ecumenical dimension of Catholic Charismatic Renewal and foster the commitment to serving the unity of all Christians
  3. To promote service of the poor and social action through Catholic Charismatic Renewal

We are also gathering content for our first newsletter which will include news from the Diocese and beyond.

Finally, as part of the year of the Eucharist, a date has been set for a Charismatic Mass, 6.30pm on Sunday 12 June 2022. More details to follow.

Please continue to pray for us.
