Radio Maria England is delighted to announce its upcoming May Mariathon 2025, three days of on-air fundraising from Wednesday 28 May to Friday 30 May, uniting listeners across the country to support the mission and growth of our sister-station, Radio Maria in the Philippines.
The Mariathon is a global Radio Maria initiative where stations around the world join in prayer, testimony, and giving to help expand the Radio Maria family in regions most in need. This year, Radio Maria in England is focusing its efforts on raising funds for Radio Maria in the Philippines, where the network is growing rapidly and bringing the Gospel to communities across the islands.
Throughout the week, Radio Maria England will broadcast live testimonies from the Philippines, special programming and guest interviews highlighting the impact of Catholic radio in Asia.
Listeners are invited to join in prayer, consider making a donation, and share the information with friends and communities.
The week will culminate in a Filipino Festival Celebration on Friday 30 May at St Dominic’s Priory in London.
The evening begins with Mass at 6.00pm, followed by a festival of Filipino food, music, and karaoke in the parish hall. All are welcome. Tickets are a suggested £25 donation, available at the door or by registering online.
Fr Toby Lees OP, Priest Director of Radio Maria England, said, “This Mariathon is a chance for our listeners to learn more about the amazing culture, history and most of profound faith of the Philippines, as well as reflecting on the amazing work that so many Filipinos do in this country. We’ll be fundraising for Radio Maria Philippines to help them to continue to nurture the great flower of faith there by enabling them to reach many more listeners with the hope-filled broadcasting of Radio Maria. This Mariathon is just one expression of the solidarity of all the Radio Marias around the world.”
