Minsteracres Announce their latest Walking Retreats in the Northumbrian Countryside. The Retreat Centre has walking events throughout the year.

If you love to get out into the countryside then come and enjoy the outdoors in a series of guided walks in north Durham, Derwentside and southern Northumberland. An opportunity to refresh your batteries and contemplate nature with a friendly group, either as a one-day walk or a residential 3-day retreat in our historic house and grounds.

Minsteracres retreat centre is a hidden historical home set within 110 acres of countryside and woodland, featuring an alley of 200 year-old Californian giant redwood trees.

With vistas across the Tyne valley to the Cheviots, the 14 acres of woodland in north Durham, established more than 200 years ago by former owners the Silvertop family, contains several rare mature conifers and deciduous trees, hybrid rhododendrons and remnants of ancient woodland and is a natural wildlife habitat.

Our popular and well established walking tours are open to all, you will need suitable walking boots and warm, weatherproof clothing. Bring a packed lunch for the one day walks, breakfast and food are supplied for the Residential Retreat. Walks are typically seven to ten miles.
