It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Monsignor Philip Carroll who died on Tuesday 9 April 2024, aged 77.

Please pray for the repose of his soul.

Mgr Phil’s body will be received into St Agnes, Crawcrook on Wednesday 1 May with Mass at 7.00pm. His Requiem Mass will be at St Mary’s Cathedral at 12.05pm on Thursday 2 May 2024. The Requiem Mass will be livestreamed (accessible through St Mary’s Cathedral website and YouTube Channel).

May he rest in peace.

Monsignor Philip Carroll, born 30 November 1946, died on Tuesday 9 April 2024; he was 77 years of age.

Mgr Philip was ordained to the priesthood on 18 December 1971. He has faithfully served the people of our Diocese in the following parishes:
