The project continues to see an increasing number of people using our services each month and your donations of food, toiletries and finance are welcomed even more than ever. Toiletries are very much in demand – while we once had ample stock of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shower gels, deodorants, shampoo and conditioners – these now frequently run low.
As the summer holidays are approaching, we would love to hear from people who might like to get involved in volunteering. You do not necessarily have to commit to a regular role, but we are keen to identify people who might wish to offer cover when a number of our volunteers have holidays or other commitments. This is a great opportunity to see the project in action and make a real difference to the lives of those who visit us. A client from Sri Lanka recently commented to one volunteer that he can’t believe how welcome the project makes him feel each time he comes in. He stated that it is very difficult to be away from his family but when he comes to the project it is like having his parents here! “Everyone is so very kind; I can’t believe how lovely everyone is.”
We are very grateful to the SVP for sharing their donations of Easter Eggs so that we could offer them to children who visited over the Easter period and also provide them in our home delivery food parcels.
Please continue to support this work in any way you can. Thank you for your generosity.
Details of our bank account can be found on our webpage.
