Fr Dermott Donnelly was invited by the Prime Minister yesterday to 10 Downing Street to join religious leaders including His Excellency the Papal Nuncio and His Eminence the Cardinal and members of the hierarchy of Ukrainian church in the UK to pray for peace in these troubled times.

Fr Dermott for many years has had a National role being a founder member of the Catholic Youth Ministry Feedration (CYMFED) and being its’ Chair for a number of years.

His role guiding and developing Youth Ministry is something he is well known for across the country. He has also worked for the last 30 years building youth ministry in the diocese, raising money, building the Emmaus Youth Village and forming youth leaders across the world from The USA, Phillipines, Africa, Ireland an many more.

"It was a real privilege to join Christian leaders from across many churches at Downing Street and to stand together in prayer, the silence was so profound. It was a moment when the power of vulnerability encountered the vulnerability of power. The best weapon we had was prayer."
