As the COP26 Conference continues, both the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales and CAFOD have produced some helpful resources, highlighting the Catholic Church’s stance and response as we position ourselves as a voice in the community fighting for change.
Fr Chris Hughes, Chair of the Diocesan Environmental Group for Hexham and Newcastle said:
“There is an urgency with the climate crisis where action needs to be taken now in order to protect our common home. Through the work of the Diocesan Environmental Group, we are working hard to find the best ways of reducing our impact on the environment and we encourage every person in the Diocese to do what they can to protect the planet. Some people may be disheartened by the scale of the challenge, but if we all work together we have the power to make a difference.”
