The following clergy moves have been announced across the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle, to take place in the near future.
Fr James Angus is to be Parish Priest of the parish of Our Lady and St Thomas in Willington.
Fr Damian Cassidy OCarm and Fr Paul Jenkins OCarm will establish a Carmelite house at St John Vianney Presbytery in West Denton. Fr Damian is to be Parish Priest of the parishes of St John Vianney in West Denton and St Cuthbert in Throckley. Fr Paul is to be Assistant Priest in the same parishes.
Fr Paul Kilduff is to be an Assistant Priest in the parishes of St Mary in Hexham, St Peter and St Oswald in Otterburn and Bellingham and St John of Beverley and St Wilfred in Haydon Bridge and Haltwhistle.
Fr Martin Morris is to be joint Parish Priest and Moderator in the Parishes of St John XXIII in Washington and Penshaw and St Joseph in Birtley.
Fr James O’Keefe is taking a sabbatical and will return to the Diocese in April 2024.
Fr Shaun Purdy is to be Parish Priest of the parishes of St Joseph in Stanley, St Patrick in Dipton and The Sacred Heart in Byermoor. Fr Shaun will also succeed Fr Marc Lyden-Smith as the diocesan coordinator of school chaplains.
Fr Vincent Waiga CSSp and Fr Martin Goba CSSp will establish a Spiritan house at St Aidan’s Presbytery in Ashington. Fr Vincent is to be Parish Priest of the parishes of St Aidan in Ashington and St Thomas of Canterbury in Longhorsley. Fr Martin is to be Assistant Priest in the same parishes.
Fr Uchenna Odenigbo CSSp is moving to the Diocese of Galloway in Scotland, where he will take up a new appointment for his Order.
Fr Luke Wilkinson is to be Assistant Priest in the parishes of St John XXIII in Washington and Penshaw and St Joseph in Birtley.
