Bishop Stephen will celebrate Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral on Saturday 14 February 2026 at 12.00pm to give thanks for the Sacrament of Marriage and Family Life. This is taking place during National Marriage Week.
All married couples will be invited with particular focus on those celebrating a significant anniversary together with bereaved spouses, separated individuals, families experiencing or having experienced domestic difficulties and all engaged couples. In these unprecedented times we remember couples in crisis and individual adults and children experiencing difficulties and abuse in their family relationships. We wish all to know that no one is forgotten and that the Sacramental life is very much alive and prayed for.
Do you have a significant anniversary to celebrate?
Anyone celebrating a significant anniversary in 2026 has the opportunity to be presented by Bishop Stephen with a certificate of celebration during the Mass. We are sure that there will be couples celebrating 5, 10, 25 or 50 years of marriage particularly. Anyone celebrating any special anniversary can request a certificate by completing this form or by calling the Formation and Mission admin team on 0191 243 3316.
