Tyne and Wear Citizens, a UK Citizens Chapter, work to overcome injustice. They bring together everyday people and local organisations to build a better, fairer society – making change on the issues that matter, from campaigning for zebra crossings on dangerous roads, to reforming the immigration system, to the Living Wage campaign.
The Diocese has been a strategic partner for Tyne and Wear Citizens (TWC) for nearly ten years.
Currently TWC are conducting a Listening Campaign to better understand the key issues that are impacting on the lives of people across the North East.
Next spring there will be local elections across the north-east. The key issues identified through these Listening Campaigns will be presented to the local candidates at electoral assemblies taking place in Sunderland and Newcastle next April.
What issues – local and national, do you want addressed?
The first of the Listening Campaigns takes place on Thursday 20th November 2025, 6pm until 8pm at Newcastle University Business School on Barrack Road, NE1 4SE.
