Visit of the Papal Nuncio
Tuesday 30th September – Thursday 2nd October, we welcomed the Papal Nuncio, His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía to our Diocese.
As Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Buendía is Pope Leo’s Ambassador to our country and so a sign of our communion with the Church of Rome.
Bishop Stephen led a tour of our Diocese which included Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral, a visit to Newcastle Anglican Cathedral, time with our Refugee Project, trips to Lindisfarne, Emmaus Youth Village, Durham University and Choral Evensong at Durham Cathedral.
His Excellency thanked everyone across our Diocese for their enthusiasm and their commitment.
