An introductory course, over three sessions, which helps new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to begin learning about this ministry. The help provided by these ministers in distributing Communion in Church and taking the Blessed Sacrament to the Sick is of great importance in the life of our parishes.

Parish priests are invited to indicate if they would like to send participants to the course.

For this ministry, Diocesan Safeguarding procedures may be applicable.

The programme consists of three sessions:

Venue: St Aidan’s, Coach Lane, Benton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. NE12 8AD

  • Session 1: Monday 10 November 2025 (Evening session) 7.00 – 9.00pm
  • Session 2: Monday 17 November 2025 Evening session) 7.00 – 9.00pm
  • Session 3: Saturday 22 November 2025 (Day session) 10.30am – 3.00pm*

*Participants to bring their own packed lunch for the day (Saturday) session – tea and coffee provided.

NB. The Saturday session ends with a Commissioning Service.

Cost: £20 per participant.
