As part of the Year of Jubilee 2025, Pope Francis has called us to consider how we are Pilgrims of Hope in today’s world.

The Jubilee of Seminarians will be celebrated on 23-24 June, and this will begin a week of Jubilee celebrations for all members of the clergy. One of our Diocesan seminarians, David Pinder, has shared his message of hope which can be viewed below.

Speaking to seminarians and community of the Seminario Conciliar de Barcelona in December 2022, Pope Francis encouraged the seminarians to bring God’s love to the world through their personal witness and ministry.

The gift of the Holy Spirit accompanies the priest in his journey and vocation of being priests of Christ, the Pope said, encouraging the seminarians to always savour and remember this love the Lord has poured out on them by calling them to this vocation, a love He will pour abundantly into their hearts, in their ordination and in the rest of their days. “Never extinguish that fire that will make you fearless preachers of the Gospel, dispensers of divine treasures. Be united with Jesus, like Mary, to surrender yourselves with Him in the Eucharistic sacrifice, and also in the glory of His triumph.”

In this Year of Jubilee, we are called to celebrate hope and where it may be for others. If you’ve got a story, testimony or example you want to share then upload a clip to the Minutes of Hope project, and it will help inspire hope in those who see it during the year of Jubilee and beyond.
