Wednesday 30 October is the Feast of the Douai Martyrs. The English College at Douai trained priests to serve the Catholic population in England and Wales, at a time when it was against the law to be a Catholic.
Many of the Douai priests who served in England were captured and martyred for the Catholic faith. Their feast day is kept as a Solemnity at Ushaw, which was established as a seminary to continue the work of training priests when the college at Douai closed.
Join us for Mass on Wednesday 30 October, the Feast of the Douai Martyrs, at 7.00pm in St Cuthbert’s Chapel. After Mass, tea and coffee will be available.
All are welcome to join us for the service. No ticket is required.
