There was cause for celebration when Year 11 students returned to St Thomas More Catholic High School to collect their GCSE and BTEC exam results.
“Once again our students achieved excellent grades, which means that they are able to progress to the next stage of their education or training,” said David Watson, Headteacher at the school in North Shields, which is a member of the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust.
“Most are returning to join the St Thomas More Sixth Form, where they are looking forward to continuing their studies,” he continued. “For other students, it was time to say goodbye, as they leave us for college courses and apprenticeships.
“Our students and staff have worked so hard, and they have been rightly awarded for their great efforts. It’s been a real team effort again, so thanks to the wonderful teachers and pastoral team who have supported our students through the disruption of Covid and the past two years of Key Stage 4.”
