About the speakers:

Dr Joseph Sievers, leading expert on the Pharisees, From 1991 until his retirement in 2023, he taught Jewish history and literature of the Hellenis­tic period at the Pontifical Biblical In­stitute in Rome, where he was a full Professor.

He has published several books, and numerous articles on Christian­Jewish relations. With Amy-Jill Lev­ine, he edited The Pharisees (Grand Rapids, Ml: Eerdmans, 2021).

Rabbi Debbie Young-Somers is part of the Rabbinic team at Edgware and Hendon Reform Synagogue. She has been actively engaged in Inter­faith work for 25 years, and continues to write and teach on interfaith rela­tions at Leo Baeck College, Queens Ecumenical Foundation and Ripon College. She is a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought among others.
