An introductory course, over three sessions, which helps new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to begin learning about this ministry. The help provided by these ministers in distributing Communion in Church and taking the Blessed Sacrament to the Sick is of great importance in the life our parishes.

Parish priests are invited to indicate if they would like to send participants to the course.

For this ministry Diocesan Safeguarding procedures may be applicable.

The programme consists of three sessions:

Venue: St Patrick, Goatbeck Terrace, Langley Moor, Durham DH7 8JJ.

  • Session 1: Wednesday 19 March 2025 (Evening session) 7.00 – 9.00pm
  • Session 2: Wednesday 26 March 2025 Evening session) 7.00 – 9.00pm
  • Session 3: Saturday 29 March 2025 (Day session) 10.30am – 3.15pm*

*Participants to bring their own packed lunch for the day event – tea and coffee provided.

NB. The Saturday session ends with a Mass of Commissioning at 3.00pm.

Cost: £20 per participant.

Due to restrictions in the venue, this course will be limited to 25 participants.
