Becoming better men through prayer, penance and servant leadership’. A day of talks, testimony, prayer and Adoration.

A group of local Catholic men who meet regularly for Adoration, bible study and fraternity will be saying the Rosary on Northumberland Street at 12.00pm on Saturday 5 March (NB. We’ve informed the police and the city council). Similar events have happened around Europe and are being organised in other cities in the UK too. The Universe recently had an article about the rosary rally in Manchester earlier this month.

Around the Rosary we have organised a day of recollection. Fr Andrew Shaw has kindly allowed us to use St Andrew’s church. Some of the local men will share their faith stories and we are hoping that Gary Stevens, who is chairman of the New Dawn Family Conference and Sean Booth, a Lay Missionary of Charity, will also be there to give some input. The aim is to encourage men to ‘step forward’ and become more active in the life of the Church. There will be prayer and Adoration.

Meeting at St Andrew’s Church, Worswick Street at 10.00am with refreshments and lunch provided. A collection will be taken. The day will run until approximately 4.00pm, with the Rosary on Northumberland Street at 12.00pm.
