On Saturday 18 December 2021 Bishop Robert Byrne CO will formally launch Caritas Hexham and Newcastle in an event to be held at Corpus Christi Parish, Bensham. Corpus Christi Church is the home of the Bensham Food Co-Operative and as such a fitting venue for the launch which is taking place as part of our Diocesan Year of the Eucharist program.

Bishop Robert will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving dedicated to the volunteers who serve with great passion and faith the poor and marginalised in our Diocese. Fr Adrian Tuckwell will welcome the attendees and then conclude the day with a brief look at the work which falls under the Vicariate for Caritas.

There will also be a presentation from Raymond Friel, Chief Executive of Caritas Social Action Network, the Caritas agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

The time together will also include initial details of the newly formed Caritas Hexham and Newcastle Fund.

Numbers are limited, but if you would like to attend the event, which includes a light lunch, please register your interest by clicking on the link opposite.

For those of you who are unable to intend in person, there will be a live stream on our Facebook Page.
