In this special Advent workshop, the School of Contemplative Life will reflect on the birth of God’s Word as the birth of loving-awareness and how meditation (contemplative prayer) can help prepare the ground for this birth.
The season of Advent doesn’t simply point us towards an extraordinary event that happened 2000 years ago. We are invited to turn to what is happening now, within each of us and all creation.
Through a series of short talks, meditation practice and conversation the workshop will explore:
- How the practice of meditation helps prepare the ground for the birth of loving-awareness
- Manifesting this birth in compassion: living in ever-deepening relationship with each other and the whole of creation.
