At the Cathedral Church of St Mary, in the heart of the city opposite Central Station, Mary’s Place is a warm and welcoming space that offers more than just shelter – it extends dignity, companionship and hope.
Two members of the Diocesan Jubilee Orientation Team, Emma and Mark joined the Mary’s Place community of volunteers for a day. Having rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into serving guests, they helped with the washing up and delivered food parcels.
For the Mary’s Place team, volunteering isn’t just about giving – it’s about receiving too: stories, smiles and glimpses of grace in the most unexpected moments. In this space of shared humanity all our volunteers are not just helpers – they’re part of the Mary’s Place family.
