Fr Richard Harriott RIP

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Fr Richard Harriott on 22 December 2021.

Please remember Fr Richard in your prayers and pray for the repose of his soul.

Fr Richard’s body will be received into St John the Baptist, Annitsford at 7.00pm on Thursday 13 January 2022 and Mass will be celebrated.

Bishop Robert Byrne CO will celebrate his Requiem Mass at St John the Baptist at 12 noon on Friday 14 January, which will be followed by Burial in the Church grounds.

Death Notice

Father Richard Harriott, born 30 October 1934, died on 22 December 2021; he was 87 years of age.

Father Richard was ordained to the priesthood on 27 May 1961. He has faithfully served the people of our Diocese in the following parishes:

Curate:

Newcastle: St Anthony of Padua, October 1961 – August 1969
Newcastle: St Mark’s, August 1969 – February 1979

Parish Priest:

Newcastle: St Teresa’s February 1979 – August 1992
Annitsford: St John the Baptist August 1992 – December 2021

Fr Richard was a member of the Northern Brethren Fund and fellow members of the NBF are reminded to offer two Masses for the repose of his soul de obligatione.
