The theme for this Year of Jubilee is ‘Pilgrims of Hope‘. Pope Francis invites us to rediscover a spirituality of God’s creation in which we understand ourselves as “pilgrims on the earth” rather than masters of the world.
On Friday 11 April, staff from St Godric’s, Durham, St Michael’s, Esh and St Benet’s, Ouston, along with Father Colm, joined together to walk the Pilgrim’s Way across the sands from the end of the causeway to the village of Holy Island.
They paused halfway to gather in prayer, thanking God for our vocation and to pray for the new term ahead. A wonderful opportunity to reflect upon our privileged roles and walk where Saints have gone before us, on Holy ground.
