The artistic children of St Alban’s Catholic Primary School, Pelaw have created a wonderful new cross for their school hall – under the expert guidance of local art teacher Geri Mole.
Parish priest Canon Ian Patterson was recently invited to bless the cross, and Nick Hurn, the CEO of Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, joined the celebrations to mark the occasion.
The cross provides a beautiful focal point in the school, reminding students and staff of their faith journey each time they gather in the hall.
Head teacher Maria Robinson said: “We are delighted with our new cross. It looks fantastic in our school hall and the children are rightly proud of what they have made together.”
