Resources for Parents

Remember that playing with your children, ‘wasting time’ with your children, is also a way to transmit the faith. It is graciousness, the graciousness of God.

Pope Francis to a gatherine of parents in Milan

Introduction

Thank you for bringing your child forward for First Holy Communion. This is an exciting stage in your child’s journey, and it presents an opportunity to take some precious time together as a family to consider some of our Catholic beliefs.

These documents have been created just for the parents. They are intended to provide some food for thought for those in a parenting role with children preparing for First Holy Communion. Whether you are a life-long Catholic or new to the faith, the hope is that these resources will give you something fresh to think about.

You may wish to dip your toe in the water and watch a couple of videos over this next year, or you may want to work your way through the resources with a video each month. This is an invitation with no obligation. We hope and pray that this special time of preparation will bring you closer to each other and closer to God.
