Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School

Budding scientists from a Whitley Bay school were inspired when Newcastle University graduates led them through a series of experiments. The Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) Workshop at Star of the Sea Catholic Primary included topics ‘Think Like a Scientist’ and ‘Story of Earth’, and involved 58 Year 5 pupils

There were tasty treats in store when children at a Whitley Bay school celebrated the eightieth anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. Staff and pupils alike at Star of the Sea Catholic Primary arrived dressed in patriotic red, white, and blue for the historic occasion, which also featured a host of themed activities for all year groups.

Children from a Whitley Bay primary school joined others from across the region for a special remembrance gathering to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. Organised by North Tyneside Council, the event included speakers, music and was attended by members of the local Jewish community as well as dignitaries and guests.
