The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle is proud to announce their new Religious Education Directory (RED) resource, “The Way”, a pioneering and collaborative initiative designed to enrich Religious Education across all Catholic primary schools in the diocese.
A Pioneering Diocesan Vision
The journey towards “The Way” began in 2024, born from a shared desire among Catholic Education Trusts (CETs) to develop a bespoke diocesan resource that reflects the unique identity, heritage, and mission of our local Church. From the outset, the project embraced a pioneering approach, placing collaboration, expertise, and innovation at its heart.
This ambitious undertaking has brought together schools, teachers, and leaders across the diocese, offering a significant opportunity to work as one diocesan family. Schools will also receive guidance and links to the RED incorporating the Prayer and Liturgy Directory and Catholic Life and Mission elements of school.
