Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I wish us all a joyful and blessed Feast Day as we celebrate our Patron Saint, St. Cuthbert. We ask for his blessing and prayers upon our Diocese.

St. Cuthbert dedicated his life to prayer and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He found inspiration in the rugged beauty of the North East  and in all of God’s creation, for which he showed prophetic care. He loved and served the people entrusted to his pastoral care.

May we continue St. Cuthbert’s mission in our day. May we be rooted in prayer and in the Sacraments.  May we share the love of the Lord with others. May we care for our common home and especially care for those who suffer from poverty in all its forms. May we be witnesses of Jesus’ love.

May I wish us all a joyful Feast Day.

St. Cuthbert pray for us.
