It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Fr Patrick (Paddy) O’Connell who died peacefully in hospital on Monday 19 June 2023, aged 87.
Please pray for the repose of Fr O’Connell’s soul.
Fr Patrick’s body will be received into St Bernadette’s, Wallsend at 5.00pm on Sunday 9 July and Mass will be celebrated. His body will remain there overnight. On Monday 10 July his body will be taken to St Michael’s, Westmorland Road, Newcastle where Bishop Seamus will celebrate his Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon.
Fr Patrick’s body will then be taken to Cork, Ireland for burial on Thursday 13 July.
